I grew up in a family of physicians—26 of them! After completing my residency and several years as emergency room physician, I decided to open my own primary care practice, where I could really get to know my patients and help them get healthy and stay healthy over the long term.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve built a remarkable practice where patients feel like they are part of a family. My staff is amazing! They've been with me for years, so when someone calls or comes in, they know they'll be welcomed by friendly, familiar people. Patients also appreciate that they can get in touch with questions at any time, and that when they have an appointment, they're going see me personally, not a physician assistant or nurse practitioner.

I take the time to really listen to patients each time we connect, no matter what the issue or concern may be. I’m proud to have cultivated this relationship of trust, so that patients are completely comfortable talking to me and heeding my honest advice about improving their health.

I believe in preventive care and in treating the whole person rather than just symptoms and disease. As a primary care doctor that is board certified in internal medicine, I see a lot of patients suffering from chronic conditions that are related to carrying excess weight.

Several years ago, I realized that instead of just treating these conditions with medications, my efforts would be better spent in treating the causes. I gathered a team of experts to develop a medically-supervised weight loss program called LeanMD. Now an important part of my practice is supporting my patients in the process of losing weight, getting active, and feeling and looking their best. It brings me great joy to see my patients become successful and to see them appreciate what we've been able to achieve by working closely together.
