Dr. Temkin is proud to offer his patients CoolSculpting, a procedure which eliminates fat quickly, noninvasively, and effectively. It is the only FDA-approved procedure which uses controlled cooling to target and eliminate fat cells.
We are also the only clinic to incorporate a weight-loss program with the CoolSculpting procedure. If desired, patients may pair CoolSculpting with the LeanMD program to lose fat cells and keep weight off through positive lifestyle changes. By bringing these programs together, our patients see even more amazing, lasting results.
What is CoolSculpting?
Fat cells will freeze at higher temperatures than surrounding tissues, so CoolSculpting technology is able to safely deliver precisely controlled cooling to target the fat cells underneath the skin.
The treated fat cells are frozen, or crystallized, and then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates the dead cells, leaving a more sculpted appearance.
Together, we will develop a customized CoolSculpting treatment plan that addresses your problem areas. Additional sessions may further enhance your results. Your treatment plan will be individualized to your body, goals, and budget.
How is the procedure done?
Dr. Temkin or a trained medical professional will position the CoolSculpting device on your body at the agreed upon treatment areas, and controlled cooling will be applied. During the procedure, you may read, check email, watch a show, or take a nap—it’s that easy!
As this procedure is completely nonsurgical, you can typically return to work and your normal daily activities immediately. In the following weeks, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates the dead cells that were crystallized during the procedure. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they're gone for good.
As every individual is unique, results will vary. Call our office to set up a consultation with Dr. Temkin, our experienced CoolSculpting physician, and discuss your recommended treatment plan.
Who is a good candidate for Coolsculpting?
The best candidates have noticeable bulges in specific problem areas. Unlike gastric bypass surgery, the CoolSculpting procedure is designed for those who have fat cells in areas which resist diet and exercise efforts. It is not a solution for obese patients, but CoolSculpting is an effective alternative to liposuction.
- Appropriate for both men and women
- Eliminates stubborn bulges (areas such as the abdomen, flank, inner thighs, outer thighs, and chin) for good
- Actually reduces the number of fat cells in the treated areas
- No downtime required post-procedure
- Recently awarded "The Best Fat-Reducing Treatment" by NewBeauty!
How much does the CoolSculpting procedure cost?
The price for CoolSculpting procedures is dependent on your unique areas of concern, the number of sessions needed, and your weight goals. Dr. Temkin will help to create a customized treatment plan based on these factors, and we will discuss pricing prior to treatment.
How long is each session? How many sessions will I need?
The length of your session will vary depending on the number of areas being treated during one visit. Depending on your unique goals, additional sessions may be necessary to achieve your desired look. At your consultation, we will create an individual treatment plan that will address these variables.
How will the CoolSculpting procedure feel?
You will feel some pressure and intense cold during the first few minutes when the cooling begins, but this will subside. In fact, many of our patients read, watch videos, do work on laptops, or nap during the treatment.
Is the CoolSculpting procedure safe?
The CoolSculpting procedure is FDA-approved for the flank (commonly referred to as love handles), abdomen, and thighs. Over one million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed worldwide as a safe, effective, and nonsurgical fat reduction treatment.
Are there any side effects?
During the procedure, you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness, or discomfort. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, and pain. Rare side effects may also occur.
The CoolSculpting procedure is not for everyone. It is not a treatment for obesity. Patients suffering from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria should not have the CoolSculpting procedure. As with any medical procedure, ask Dr. Temkin if the CoolSculpting procedure is right for you.
When will I see results?
You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after treatment, and patients typically experience the most dramatic results after two months. The body will continue to flush out the fat cells for up to four to six months after treatment.
What happens if I gain weight down the road?
After seeing the results from their CoolSculpting procedure, many patients are compelled to take even better care of themselves, and we encourage this. However, any weight that is gained after treatment will be evenly distributed on the body, not just in the areas you received treatment.
